The Company was incorporated on 30 January 2015 in the Republic of Mauritius and holds a Global Business Licence. It serves as the holding company of Azure Power Energy Limited and Azure Power Solar Energy Private Limited in Mauritius, as well as Azure Power India Private Limited, Azure Power Rooftop Private Limited, and their subsidiary companies in India (collectively referred to as the Azure Power Group).

The Azure Power Group is one of India's leading renewable energy developers and operators, focused on the development, ownership, and operation of large-scale renewable energy projects that supply clean power to India's electricity grid. The Group pioneered utility-scale solar energy in India with the development of the country's first utility-scale solar power project in 2009 and has since established a significant presence in the Indian renewable energy sector.
